A Time for Healing
Join us on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Amal Hall (1792 Bank Street) for the final gathering of A Time for Healing—a community-based research initiative dedicated to developing integrated, holistic approaches to healing within Ottawa’s Somali community. This culminating event marks the end of a year-long journey of reflection, dialogue, and engagement focused on raising awareness about the impacts of complex trauma and co-creating culturally grounded healing strategies. All are welcome to take part in this meaningful moment of connection and celebration.
Black History Month 2025
Join us on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM as we celebrate Black History Month by honouring the past and inspiring the future. The evening will feature powerful performances and reflections from poet Saeed Babalola, author and sports manager Ronny Musikitele, and poet and arts educator Jamaal Abir Akbari, followed by the vibrant rhythms of Kamengo African Drumming.
